ISA84 Certificate Programs

ISA_SIS_Certification1ISA and the Automation Standards Compliance Institute (ASCI) have introduced three certificate programs to increase knowledge and awareness of the ISA84 standard.

Each certificate program includes specialized training on ISA84 and an online exam that is offered through Prometric testing centers. Those who register for the training course and the certificate program, and successfully complete the exam, will be issued an ISA certificate specifying their expertise as and

Safety professionals who successfully complete all three certificate programs are designated as an ISA84 SIS Expert.

Renewals

All ISA84 Safety Instrumented Systems Certificates must be renewed every three years. To renew your certificate, you will be required to complete an application and document:

  • A minimum 2 years work experience in process safety
    • A year is defined as 1,500 hours of active employment
    • A cumulative total of 3,000 hours of documented work experience is required during the three year renewal period
  • Successful completion the ISA84 Certificate Program Renewal Seminar (online web seminar)
